A Lovecraft Retrospective: Artists Inspired by H.P. Lovecraft
A Lovecraft Retrospective is a stunning and expensive, colossal tome. Four hundred pages long featuring the work of over forty artists, including J.K. Potter, H.R. Giger, Raymond Bayless, Ian Miller, Virgil Finlay, Lee Brown Coye, Rowena Morrill, Bob Eggleton, Allen Koszowski, Mike Mignola, Michael Whelan, John Coulthart, Harry O. Morris, John Jude Palencar, and dozens of others, as well as twenty thousand words of original essays. From the 1930’s pulp comic art to current CGI enhanced portraits, this book has it all.
There is no index, instead, each illustration is shown in the back in a large thumbnail giving the description of the artist, the date of production, the context and the medium.
A must have for any Lovecraft fan and probably the best lovecraftian art book ever.
