Starry Eyes (2014)
A hopeful young starlet uncovers the ominous origins of the Hollywood elite and enters into a deadly agreement in exchange for fame and fortune.
“Starry Eyes” is a creepy and gruesome Faustian tale about stardom, ambition, and the true price of fame. Although low in budget the film is packed with an haunting 80s-style “John Carpenteresque” synth score and a star-making-knockout performance by the lead Alexandra Essoe, as the sweet and desperate actress who is willing to sell her soul for fame.
The film loses a bit of steam towards the end, nevertheless it is a surprisingly successful and effective piece of horror.
BE WARNED, it gets pretty disturbing and sickening in places, definitely not for the faint of heart.
