Book of the Month – Carrion Comfort (Dan Simmons)

Carrion Comfort by Dan Simmons (1989)

Carrion Comfort is an epic and extensive horror tale (over 800 pages long) about psychic vampires who can subjugate other people to their wills. Although overly long, the book is packed with great character development (complex protagonists and villains with believable motivations) and a tense/gritty story.

This is the second novel by American writer Dan Simmons (published in 1989). A novel that has received  high praises from many horror authors such as Stephen King (“CARRION COMFORT is one of the three greatest horror novels of the 20th century. Simple as that”) and Guillermo del Toro (“Epic in scale and scope but intimately disturbing, CARRION COMFORT spans the ages to rewrite history and tug at the very fabric of reality”).
This book will keep you on the edge of your sit, definitely a must read!
